Homes in Ogden
Ogden still has some of the oldest housing on the Wasatch Front. Victorian and Craftsman houses line Jefferson Avenue and the Eccles Historic District, with Historic 25th Street as the downtown spine. Many of those homes went up between the 1890s and the 1930s. Some started on coal or gravity heat, and the forced-air ducts were added later, often with floor registers or low wall registers. Post-war ramblers from the 1940s through the 1960s fill much of the flatter city, usually with a basement furnace.
The East Bench under Mount Ogden, and the streets in Shadow Valley, lean toward larger split-levels and two-story houses from the 1960s through the 1990s. Near Weber State, duplexes and rentals change tenants more often than the owner-occupied houses on the bench. Air Pro UT schedules that whole mix from the Salt Lake City shop. ZIP codes already published for Ogden are 84401, 84403, 84404, and 84405.
